Designed for Formula 1, the new Balaton Park circuit is inaugurated in Hungary
F1. After 4 years of construction, the new Hungarian circuit is inaugurated. An investment that cost 200 million euros.
The Balaton Park is a 4.1-kilometer circuit with 16 turns. This track is located on the shores of Lake Balaton, about a hundred kilometers from the Hungarian capital.
And for a circuit to be eligible for the F1 calendar, it is necessary for the layout to obtain a grade 1 certification from the FIA. The circuit was constructed according to the specifications in an attempt to one day join the F1.
The Hungarian leg of the Formula 1 World Championship has been present since 1986, always on the same circuit, the Hungaroring. Recently renewed, it is scheduled on the F1 calendar at least until 2027.
Currently, the Balaton Park has a capacity of 10,000 spectators, with the possibility of expanding to accommodate 120,000. Equipped with 3 paddocks and 48 garages, the organizers intend to add facilities by constructing a museum, attractions, and above all, a hotel with a breathtaking view of Balaton Park.
It is also worth noting that the president of the circuit is none other than the father of French-Israeli F2 driver Roy Nissany.
