F1 Academy Netherlands - Race 1: Abbi Pulling at the helm
F1. The British driver led the race from start to finish ahead of Doriane Pin, who was penalized for an early start.
Scheduled yesterday, the first F1 Academy race of the weekend had to be postponed due to strong gusts of wind and downpours that hit the Dutch coasts and especially the Zandvoort circuit.
It was this morning, precisely at 8:30, that the sixteen drivers in the category started in the Netherlands. Under cold temperatures but on a dry track, the top two in the championship, Abbi Pulling and Doriane Pin, started on the front row of the starting grid.
Start unfortunately stolen by the Frenchwoman. At the wheel of her Prema Racing team's single-seater supported by Mercedes, Pin spent her race in the wake of her rival without being able to attack her, before receiving a penalty after the checkered flag.
Result, the one who also competes in Endurance with the Iron Dames finds herself 5th in the final standings behind Pulling, Nerea Marti, Maya Weug, and Nina Gademan who was granted an invitation for the Dutch event.
