Kevin Magnussen replaced by Ollie Bearman in Brazil for the sprint race
F1. Ollie Bearman will be a regular in 2025 with Haas and he will have a new opportunity to practice as soon as this weekend, as he will replace Kevin Magnussen during the Sprint race, at least, due to Kevin Magnussen's health problem.

Kevin Magnussen is sick. He couldn't be present for the practice and qualifying sessions of the sprint race on Friday, so he logically has to give up his place for the sprint race on Saturday morning as well. Indeed, the driver who qualifies must also be the one who starts the race for which he qualified. Kevin Magnussen will be able to take part in the qualifying session on Saturday afternoon for the Sunday race if Haas deems his health condition appropriate. He will then have had no practice session.
The Haas F1 team driver, Kevin Magnussen, will not take part in the on-track testing on Friday at the São Paulo Grand Prix after suffering from discomfort, detailed the statement.
The official reserve driver Oliver Bearman will take over. The team wishes Kevin a speedy recovery and will provide further information in due course.
On its side, the FIA presented a document to specify the technical details. Thus, the quota of gearboxes and engines remains closely linked to Kevin Magnussen: « In accordance with Article 32.2 of the Sporting Regulations, the stewards grant permission to driver Oliver Bearman, with car number 50, to take part in the São Paulo Grand Prix 2024 in place of Kevin Magnussen until further notice. »
« The driver of car 50 is required to use the engine, gearbox, and tires that were allocated to the original driver, Kevin Magnussen, as detailed in Article 32.5 of the FIA Formula 1 Sporting Regulations. Additionally, this authorization is subject to the condition that Oliver Bearman meets the technical verification requirements. »
Haas has not yet specified whether Kevin Magnussen will be able to take part in the race.
