McLaren, the only team in the top 4 to propose improvements in Sao Paulo
F1. The FIA presented the list of innovations brought by the teams for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix at Interlagos. However, this demanding circuit has characteristics that have already been addressed in other races earlier this season. So, most teams are reusing parts that have already been used in other races. Except McLaren and Sauber.
Very few new developments this weekend brought by the teams to Sao Paulo. Unlike Mexico, which requires a specific cooling package and a particular aerodynamics due to the altitude, most teams arrived at Interlagos with the same parts used previously on other occasions this season.
Only the McLaren and Sauber teams have reported new parts.
McLaren arrives in Sao Paulo with a specific rear wing for the aerodynamic demands of the Interlagos circuit, thus giving itself every chance in the championship battle. This strategy seems to be paying off as the papaya cars secured the top spots in the sprint qualifying. The team mentioned that they are bringing a redesigned rear wing and new rear under wings. This will allow the English team to have a wider range of options for the upcoming races.
Note that Red Bull, Mercedes, and Ferrari have not declared any new developments on their car this weekend among the four top teams.
It's also the case for Williams, Aston Martin, Alpine, and Racing Bulls and Haas.
The only other team with updates here in Sao Paulo is Sauber, which introduces a new front suspension with a different positioning of its mounts on the chassis as well as a new set of rear underfloor fins.
