At the Miami Grand Prix in May, Lewis Hamilton expressed his frustration over the radio when the team hesitated to order a position change between him and his teammate Charles Leclerc, who was ahead of him. The seven-time world champion then ironically said: "Why don't you take a tea break while you're at it."

A strained relationship with his engineer?

His relationship with Riccardo Adami was further scrutinized during the Monaco Grand Prix, where Lewis Hamilton asked over the radio in the final laps: « Are you mad at me or what? », without apparently receiving a response.

When asked about this during the Spanish Grand Prix weekend – his ninth as a Ferrari driver – Lewis Hamilton assured that "everything was fine between them".

"Our relationship is excellent," he explained. "No problem. We're constantly learning to know each other better, and each of us adapts to the other's working style. He has worked with many different drivers before. We really have no issue."

« We are in the same boat »

When asked if the rumors affected him, the Ferrari driver responded: « There is a lot of speculation. Most of it is nonsense. In the end, we have a very good relationship. He's a great guy, he works hard — so do I — and we don't always make the right decisions every weekend. We have disagreements, like everyone in a relationship, but we overcome them. »

« We are in the same boat, we both want to win a championship together, and we are both working to improve the team. So it's just background noise, we really pay no attention to it. It can continue if you want, but it doesn't change anything about our work. »

About the radio message in Monaco, Lewis Hamilton clarified: « It was just that there were areas... We had radio problems during the race, I didn't get all the information I wanted. »
