American actor Brad Pitt is in full production of his film about F1. He has the support of Lewis Hamilton as a consultant for the project. In his film, Pitt portrays an F1 driver, racing for the fictional team APX GP, in rivalry with his teammate, portrayed by Damson Idris, during a season.<\/p>\n
The single-seaters in the film, black and gold in color, are actually F2 cars from the Carlin team and disguised by members of the Mercedes F1 Team. The logo of the Mercedes brand is present on the drivers’ suits, and the AMG logo is present on the chassis of the car. They have already been on the starting grid during the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on July 9th, during the formation lap. This team even had a dedicated pit garage assigned to them, but they did not, however, participate in the race.<\/p>\n
The film initially had to face the screenwriters’ strike, which paralyzed a large number of Hollywood productions between May 2nd and September 27th. Several shooting scenes were postponed, particularly those during the Las Vegas Grand Prix four weeks ago. Brad Pitt is a member of the striking union and therefore put his film on hold during the negotiations.<\/p>\n
The film production is also suffering from budgetary issues. Nearly 20 million dollars have been spent to produce an entire fleet of replica F1 cars in the colors of the actual 2023 race cars, as reported by the British magazine Business F1.<\/p>\n
