The boss of Super-Aguri, Daniel Audetto, stated that Anthony Davidson will keep his seat with the team in 2008, despite the current lack of a firm commitment between the two parties.<\/p>\n
After years spent at Honda as a test driver, Davidson was finally hired as a full-time race driver in 2007. And not with Honda, but with Super Aguri, ‘the newcomer,’ with Takuma Sato as the second driver.<\/p>\n
But following payment issues mid-season, there were rumors that the team might replace Davidson with another driver who would demand less pay.<\/p>\n
In an interview with ITV, team owner Aguri Suzuki stated that he has not yet made any decisions for next year, but added that he personally appreciates Davidson.<\/p>\n
Audetto went further by saying he was certain that Davidson would be on the grid next season: \u00ab Definitely, 100%. \u00bb<\/p>\n
He added: \u00ab He did a fantastic job. \u00bb<\/p>\n
\u00ab I think Anthony proves to be a good option: He has the speed and maturity is coming. We can therefore expect to have two very good drivers next year. \u00bb<\/p>\n
Although Sato was the author of the four points scored by Super-Aguri in 2007, Davidson was often a cut above his teammate, particularly during qualifying.<\/p>\n
\u00ab I am happy with what I did, it is exactly what I wanted, I think I was improving from race to race, \u00bb he said.<\/p>\n
\u00ab And this, especially in the second half of the year, I am convinced that I delivered brilliant performances. I believe that everyone realized that the speed was still there during the qualifications. \u00bb<\/p>\n
\u00ab I am very happy because I have proven to myself that I am good enough in F1, and probably better than half the grid. \u00bb<\/p>\n
\u00ab If I were to lose my place as a pilot, I would be very upset, I would be drained, in tears. I have done everything that I believe was asked of me, and probably more, \u00bb continued Davidson.<\/p>\n
Without giving names, Davidson expressed his frustration about certain drivers who do not deserve to be in major teams.<\/p>\n
