Max Mosley has once again rejected calls from former world champion Jackie Stewart to step down from the head of the FIA.<\/p>\n
Stewart has been particularly critical this year of the FIA in handling the Ferrari-McLaren espionage case. In a recent speech at the Monaco Business forum, he stated that it was time to eliminate any remaining doubts. This requires appointing a new president.<\/p>\n
\u00ab There should be total independence and impartiality in the administration that governs this sport, \u00bb said Stewart.<\/p>\n
But Mosley, who had already disparaged the former world champion in September by saying he had half a mind, once again rejected Stewart’s request.<\/p>\n
\u00ab Dear old Jackie, \u00bb he said.<\/p>\n
\u00ab He knows nothing about the governance of this sport. He talks a lot, he doesn’t know much. \u00bb<\/p>\n
\u00ab The worst is when you get lost in your ideas. As far as I know, the only thing that matters to me is contributing to the emergence of new ideas and new technologies. Steering that goes in the same direction. That is the motivating factor, \u00bb declared Mosley.<\/p>\n
Mosley added that he was still undecided on a new term as president.<\/p>\n
