After a bad start in qualifying, French driver Pierre Gasly managed to eventually reach Q3. Starting Sunday in 9th position on the grid, he experienced a small scare in the first lap when Oscar Piastri’s McLaren touched him on the left side, fortunately without causing any damage to his A523.<\/p>\n

He then became the first to stop and change his medium tyres for hard ones. The safety car, deployed following Lance Stroll’s retirement, returned to the track a few seconds later without heavily impacting the Norman driver. While Tsunoda took advantage of this to pit and come back out just ahead, Gasly quickly passed him again with an admirable maneuver.<\/p>\n

Thanks to a steady pace, he then achieved a cautious yet satisfying race, finishing in ninth position. He leaves Saudi Arabia with two points. It is a performance that he is pleased with, even though he remains grounded: the work is still far from over.<\/p>\n

\u00ab We will aim better \u00bb<\/h2>\n

I would say that it was a decent race for the team overall. The final result reflects our performance and eighth place is the best we could do today. It is clearly positive to have both cars in the points, especially after Bahrain. But we must not be satisfied with our current position. Our car has potential and we will continue our learning process to close the gap with our competitors. We want to fight higher up and we will continue to work hard to achieve that. We will have a debriefing this weekend before quickly shifting our focus to Australia, where we will aim for better results.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
