Thursday, February 23rd, the last 15 minutes of the morning and afternoon sessions were dedicated to the FIA’s testing of the yellow flag and virtual safety car, as they were testing their own systems. As part of this test, the drivers had to slow down to 80 km\/h when the yellow flags were displayed. However, Kevin Magnussen believes that using the speed limiter would be a better solution for a time delta.<\/p>\n

\u00ab I know that the speed limit is 80 km\/h, so you can simply use the speed limiter. Maybe we should do that, just use the limiter like they do in slow zones at Le Mans, that’s essentially it. While with the delta, you can go up and down. I don’t know, personally it doesn’t bother me. \u00bb<\/p>\n

When asked if this could cause such a significant slowdown problem, he replied: “Well, if you simply had the green flag and went straight into one of these areas, from 320 to 80, it could get weird.”<\/p>\n

Kevin Magnussen quite satisfied with these tests.<\/h2>\n

Although the Haas driver was the slowest of all during this first day, the Danish driver still managed to complete 55 laps and believes that his VF-23 is better than last year’s car.<\/p>\n
