The Formula 1 Commission met yesterday in London to define the main regulatory changes that will be established for the year 2023. The meeting was chaired by the President and CEO of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali, and the new Director of the FIA for Single-Seaters, Nikolas Tombazis, announces the press release.<\/p>\n
The FIA has notably announced various transformations concerning the circuits.<\/p>\n
The Jeddah track, which will host the second round of the championship, has undergone some significant changes to improve visibility at the entry of corners.<\/p>\n
In Azerbaijan, the track will be completely resurfaced following some backaches encountered by certain drivers after last year’s Grand Prix. In addition to the already announced works, the Miami track will also be entirely redone.<\/p>\n
In Qatar, which is making a comeback on the calendar, a new stand building and a new paddock infrastructure will be constructed. Meanwhile, in Zandvoort, the space between the pit stop positions will increase by 1.5m.<\/p>\n
Five circuits will also experience changes to the DRS zones. This will be noticeable from the first race in Bahrain and will also affect the circuits in Jeddah, Melbourne, Baku, and Miami.
