Shortly after taking over the leadership of the group, Seidl introduced a new management structure within his team, Alfa Romeo. The biggest change is the arrival of Alessandro Alunni Bravi as the team representative.<\/p>\n
The structure that we have put in place capitalizes on the strengths of the individuals involved and allows me, as CEO, to focus on the strategic future of the Sauber group and the team. The strong management team, both on the track and at headquarters, is designed to be efficient and to divide the tasks to be accomplished among different individuals with clear responsibilities.<\/p>\n
The most significant change compared to last year is the expansion of Alessandro Alunni Bravi’s role. He will continue to oversee the team’s business and legal activities as the managing director, as he has done in the past, and will now also serve as the public face of the team as its representative.<\/p>\n
In parallel, the former engineer assures that he will keep an eye on the team, but that the main part of his work is elsewhere.<\/p>\n
The Formula 1 is the main goal of the Sauber group, so of course I will be involved and I want to bring my experience. But I want my management team to handle things on a daily basis. It’s a group of reliable people whom I trust, and I will give them the means to act and everything they need. I will attend a few races, but the foundations of success in F1 are laid at the factory and that’s where I will focus.<\/p>\n
After six seasons under the leadership of Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Vasseur, who left for Ferrari, a new chapter begins for Alfa Romeo. While Andreas Seidl doesn’t set a clear objective, he wants to continue to improve in all areas.<\/p>\n
We saw in 2022, at the beginning of a new regulatory cycle, that this team can deliver a solid car and progress on the grid. The key for us is to continue in this direction in the months and years to come. I want to see progress in all areas of the team, whether it be at the factory or on the track.<\/p>\n

Our vision for the future in Hinwil is clear: we want to continue moving forward and eventually become a team capable of fighting for podiums and victories. To achieve the set objectives, Alfa Romeo will rely on its drivers Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu. Andreas Seidl is already pleased with this complementary duo. The most important thing is that they are both fast! But they are also impressive individuals, and I have had very interesting discussions with them regarding the team.<\/p>\n
Valtteri Bottas’ experience and knowledge of racing are great assets for us, which combined with his focus and commitment will help us develop as a team. Zhou complements Valtteri well. I like having a mix of youth and experience in a group of drivers, and Zhou proved last year that he deserved his place in Formula 1. [\u2026] I look forward to seeing the next step on his side for his second season of F1 with us.<\/p>\n
In addition to the two regular drivers, Sauber places great emphasis on the training of young talents through the Sauber Academy.<\/p>\n
The Academy is an important tool for developing young talents and we are fully committed to it. It is an investment for the future, for us and for the sport. In 2023, we will support four drivers: Th\u00e9o Pourchaire in F2, Lena B\u00fchler in F1 Academy, Marcus Amand in European Formula Renault, and Taym Saleh in CIK Karting. I am excited to see what each of them can achieve.<\/p>\n
Th\u00e9o is also our third reserve driver in F1, so he will have a busy schedule alongside his F2 season. He will be heavily involved in the F1 simulator and, later in the year, he will be able to do some laps on the track with the C43.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
