More than two years after his terrible accident, the remains of the Frenchman’s crashed car will be exhibited in a special room entitled “Survival”. As a reminder, he had collided with a safety barrier during the first lap of the Bahrain Grand Prix in 2020. His car had split in two before being engulfed in flames.<\/p>\n

During this immersive exhibition, fans will be able to discover the chassis of the single-seater, which has been kept secret until now. A large video installation broadcasting previously unseen images of the accident will be set up.<\/p>\n

Romain Grosjean himself was interviewed by the exhibition’s organizers to recount this significant event in his career.<\/p>\n

(I) I had to break the headrest by hitting it with my helmet, and then I finally managed to fit my helmet and stand up on the seat. I realized that my left foot was trapped in the chassis, and I pulled as hard as I could on my left leg. My shoe got stuck in the chassis, but my foot came loose, and I was free to get out of the car. The survival cell is there for you in case of a huge impact. I was unharmed inside the cockpit. The chassis is still in one piece, the halo is there, and besides the damages and burns, it is still intact. I think it saved my life.<\/p>\n

The first F1 exhibition will open its doors in just over a month, on March 24th in Madrid, offering the opportunity to retrace the past, present, and outline the future of the history of the competition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
