Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Vasseur has refused to designate a number one driver for the 2023 season. The Scuderia’s team principal stated that Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz would start on equal footing. The Monegasque driver approves of this stance, although he believes it should not be maintained until the end of the season.<\/p>\n
(I) “I completely agree with this philosophy, you can’t start a year like that,” he stated. (I) “I think it’s important for Carlos and me to be fully motivated to do the best possible job in the first part of the season, to push each other to be the most efficient.”<\/p>\n
Then, if at any point during the championship a driver is fully engaged in the fight to win this championship, I’m sure the team will do everything possible to ensure that the driver battling for the championship is in the best possible conditions.
