While the French Formula 1 Grand Prix is no longer part of the World Championship, Jean Alesi, former F1 driver, notably for Ferrari, assumes the presidency of the Paul Ricard circuit. He will accompany the General Director, St\u00e9phane Clair, in decision-making processes.<\/p>\n

(I) I am deeply honored by this nomination. The Circuit Paul Ricard marked the beginning of my career and confirmed my passion for motorsport. Looking back on my years as a young driver, I would have never imagined occupying this position years later; this circuit is tied to my destiny. Alesi did indeed begin his Formula 1 career at Paul Ricard during the 1989 French Grand Prix. 201 Grand Prix races later, including a challenging stint at Scuderia Ferrari, he is naturally very attached to his home circuit, especially since he hails from Avignon, just a few hundred kilometers away. In 2018, for the return of the French Grand Prix, he notably became an ambassador for the Paul Ricard circuit.<\/p>\n

The French F1 Grand Prix failed to convince the F1 organization to keep it in the calendar. Even though the structure of the French Grand Prix was completely separate from the Paul Ricard circuit, Jean Alesi’s objective will still be to promote the Paul Ricard circuit abroad during the pilot’s future trips.<\/p>\n
