BWT is a major player in the motor sports economy, sponsoring teams and drivers in several categories. In Formula 1, of course, but also in Formula 2, Formula 4, and even in touring car championships with Porsche.<\/p>\n
The arrival of BWT had caught attention with a change of livery in 2019, with Racing Point (formerly Force India) single-seaters adopting a fully pink livery.<\/p>\n
In 2022, with the move of Otmar Szfanauer to Alpine (formerly the director of Racing Point), reuniting him with his former driver Esteban Ocon, BWT decides to switch teams and sponsor Alpine.<\/p>\n
In 2023, things have nevertheless changed again. Alpine F1 Team has lost the name BWT in its registration for the 2023 Formula 1 World Championship. This means that BWT is no longer the title sponsor.<\/p>\n
The French company did not communicate about this name change, but other clues suggest that BWT may stop sponsoring Alpine in 2023 to turn towards former acquaintances, Aston Martin.<\/p>\n
In February 2022, during the announcement of the partnership, C\u00e9dric Journel, Alpine’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, explained that BWT will be the title sponsor for several years. However, the list communicated by F1 and the FIA does indeed mention the name Alpine. Therefore, a change has occurred.<\/p>\n
Alonso, who is also personally sponsored by BWT, has indeed left Alpine for Aston Martin. Aston Martin is none other than the former team that BWT sponsored, namely Force India \/ Racing Point. The BWT website stated that Alonso will become a brand ambassador and undertake missions for BWT. It is therefore very possible that Aston Martin will return to having some pink in 2023 if the sponsorship with Alpine has indeed been broken.<\/p>\n
