But this year he also won his first Grand Prix and finished the championship with a 35-point lead over his teammate Lewis Hamilton.<\/p>\n<p>If the Mercedes W13 has been rebellious throughout the year, Mercedes will have made a leap forward during the United States Grand Prix in Austin by introducing a complete set of updates. Continuously improving, George Russell is now aiming for the world championship title. This is what he declared to Sky Sports microphone.<\/p>\n<p>I feel absolutely ready to win a world championship.<\/p>\n<h2>George Russell happy to have beaten Lewis Hamilton<\/h2>\n<p>The Mercedes driver is happy to have beaten his teammate in his first year and states, &#8220;I suppose that if you had told me this at the beginning of the year, I would have been extraordinarily happy because if you beat Lewis Hamilton in a Mercedes, most of the time it means that you are the world champion,&#8221; he explains.<\/p>\n<p>Despite everything, Russell considers the season to be extremely important in terms of the learning it has brought to the team. However, these 3 months of winter break will not be a walk in the park for the British driver.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am definitely going to have a very intense winter. I will work very hard with my team.
