The Singapore circuit will be approximately 150 m shorter in 2023 and will therefore have more laps, 63 instead of 61, in order to always meet the 300 km requirement set by the sporting regulations.<\/p>\n

The Singapore Port, which has been hosting the Singapore Grand Prix since 2008, will undergo construction works at the NS Square and will therefore eliminate turns 16, 17, and 18. Instead, it will now feature a straight line of 400 meters before a slight turn that will allow Formula 1 cars to remain at full speed for almost 1 kilometer.<\/p>\n

These works, which will last until at least 2026, will also impact the stands as one of the main stands will be removed. The track will now be 4.928 km instead of 5.063 km, and lap times should be greatly affected. In fact, the circuit should now be completed in around 1m29″ compared to the current 10 seconds more. This slow section being replaced by a long straight, lap time gains are significant for only 150m less traveled.<\/p>\n
