A new case has begun with Herta, who is being sought by Red Bull for the potential replacement of Gasly at AlphaTauri. The team has even specified that they only want him and that Gasly could only leave if Herta were to come.<\/p>\n
The IndyCar driver does not have a super license and probably won’t be able to obtain it as he doesn’t have the minimum required points. At the end of the season, he will only be a few points short of reaching the necessary 40 points for the super license. Currently, he has 32 points and could potentially gain a few more points by the end of the year.<\/p>\n
A request has been made to the FIA to validate it for him anyway, even if he doesn’t have all the points. But if this is accepted, Formula 2 and Formula 3 drivers might think it’s possible to make it to F1 without having all the points.<\/p>\n
This decision doesn’t please Nyck de Vries very much, who considers it unfair towards the other drivers.<\/p>\n
Personally, I think you should respect the rules and not make exceptions in situations like this one.<\/p>\n
For De Vries, such a decision would result in frustration and would change the entire system in order to reach the F1. Drivers could then look towards lower classes in hopes of gathering as many points as possible, such as on the Indy Lights side where only 12 drivers compete.<\/p>\n
Dutch speakers also do not understand Red Bull’s obsession with Herta and believe that other drivers could enter F1 next year.<\/p>\n
