The American driver Logan Sargeant, currently competing in Formula 2 with Carlin and a member of the Williams Academy, will have the opportunity to discover the FW 44 during the first free practice session at the Austin circuit for the United States Grand Prix.<\/p>\n
Williams has already announced the participation of Logan Sargeant in the first free practice session of the United States Grand Prix. The F2 driver will take off with Latifi’s car, whom he is expected to replace for the 2023 season. He will then become the second “rookie” that Williams will launch after the free practice sessions of the Spanish Grand Prix and Nyck de Vries’ participation.<\/p>\n
The young driver opened up during an interview about his session: “I’m super excited about the opportunity to drive my first free practices in Austin. Having the chance to participate in the United States Grand Prix is something very special to me.”<\/p>\n
He also wanted to thank the Williams team who allowed him to have this great opportunity.<\/p>\n
A big thank you to Williams for trusting me and believing in me to do the job. My goal is to learn as much as possible about the new generations of cars.<\/p>\n
The director of Williams, on his side, praised the young driver during another interview.<\/p>\n

“He delivered beautiful victories in Formula 2 that are linked to his hard work during the simulation sessions,” said Sven Smeets, Williams’ sporting director.<\/p>\n
We’re looking forward to seeing him take the wheel of the FW44 and see how his performance and feedback will help the team prepare for the race in Austin.<\/p>\n
As a reminder, the American joined the British team in October 2021. He is currently in third place in the Formula 2 championship behind Drugovich and Pourchaire.<\/p>\n
