A special weekend for Alpine at Monza. Despite struggles during practice and qualifying, the two French team cars still managed to finish in the points during the Grand Prix. Fernando Alonso finished in eighth place, while Esteban Ocon ended up in tenth place, thus collecting four points.<\/p>\n
10th on the grid for Sunday’s race, Alonso had a solid race on the iconic Monza circuit. However, the car didn’t have pace throughout the weekend. He is satisfied with the final result after a challenging qualifying and sprint race.<\/p>\n
\u00bb Yes, I am happy because it was a not very competitive weekend. We were a bit on the slow side of the grid. We qualified 13th and 14th on Friday. So that was our potential here and even with that, we still scored points with both cars. This means we had a good race, a good strategy, good pit stops, and no mistakes over the weekend. I am happy to do the job again.<\/p>\n
During the race, the two-time world champion took advantage of the collision between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen to gain positions. But it is clear that the track was not suitable for the Alpines. Alonso is looking forward to tracks more suitable for his car.<\/p>\n
