Official: F1 will remain at Silverstone for at least 5 more years
The British Grand Prix and the Silverstone circuit will continue to host Formula 1 at least until 2024. An agreement between Formula 1 and the Grand Prix organizers was signed to this effect yesterday in London.

On the sidelines of the British Grand Prix, with the first practice sessions starting this Friday, Liberty Media and the organizers of the British race have convened the media present at Silverstone for an important announcement in the early afternoon.
In limbo for several months, the situation of the Grand Prix on the global Formula 1 calendar has just been clarified, as the legendary race will indeed take place over the next five years at the Silverstone circuit.
« We are very happy to announce that the British Grand Prix will remain on the Formula 1 world calendar for the next five seasons and at the Silverstone circuit. » declared Chase Carey, the President of the discipline before continuing: « We have always said that Formula 1 must keep its historic meetings like Silverstone which represents the cradle of motorsport since 1950. Today, the discipline is a global sport that spans five continents, followed by an audience of over 500 million fans worldwide and our goal is to further increase this number and export this sport we love to other countries, while preserving its roots. »
