-1’03’003:

This is the fastest lap recorded on the Spielberg circuit. A time set by Charles Leclerc during his second attempt in Q3 this weekend. It is the second pole position of the Monegasque driver’s career.

-3:

The number of times Red Bull has finished in the top three on its home ground. Absent from the podiums in 2014 and 2015, the Austrian team made a strong comeback with Max Verstappen’s first podium in 2016, followed by a second in 2017 with Daniel Ricciardo, and ultimately winning the race in 2018 with the Dutch devil.

-4:

This is the number of victories held by Mercedes at the Red Bull Ring. The German team managed to win on Austrian soil between 2014 and 2017. Twice with Nico Rosberg, once with Lewis Hamilton, and finally once with Valtteri Bottas.

-5:

The number of podiums held by David Coulthard in Austria. After a succession of four second places, the Scotsman finally managed to win on his fifth attempt in 2001.

-9:

The number of different drivers who have won a victory at an Austrian Grand Prix. Notable names in this list include Formula 1 greats such as Jacques Villeneuve, David Coulthard, and Eddie Irvine.

-11

The number of years absent from the Austrian Grand Prix between its 2003 edition and its reappearance on the calendar in 2014. Yet despite the gap between the two, Michael Schumacher’s pole position was only 0.4 seconds slower than Massa’s in his Williams.

-16:

The number of different drivers who have climbed onto a podium in Austria. Familiar faces such as Daniel Ricciardo, Kimi Räikkönen, and Sebastian Vettel can be found.

-30:

The number of overtakes at Spielberg in 2018. A significant number but only half compared to what was achieved in 2016. Yet this statistic hides a very eventful race, notably with the double retirement of the Mercedes cars and that of Daniel Ricciardo’s Red Bull.

-144:

The number of laps led by Nico Rosberg during his various participations in the Austrian Grand Prix. That’s 8 more laps than Mika Hakkinen. The current driver best positioned to beat this record is Valtteri Bottas, who, after his victory in 2017, was denied a second success in 2018 due to a mechanical failure.
