Prost and Senna featured in the game F1 2019!
It is in a trailer that Codemasters announced the arrival of Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost in F1 2019. But it is far from being the only content addition by the British studio.
Expected a few weeks ago, Formula 2 will indeed be part of this new installment! However, a clarification: the 2018 championship will be included in the game at launch, but we will have to wait later to see the 2019 campaign. The cars will be playable solo, but also in multiplayer mode.
Paul Jeal, Director of Formula 1 at Codemasters, states: « We are extremely happy to bring the FIA Formula 2 Championship to the franchise. It’s always one of the most requested features by our community and it comes at an ideal time with the top three drivers of 2018: George Russell, Lando Norris, and Alexander Albon, moving up to Formula 1 for this season. We look forward to revealing more details about how this will be integrated into the career mode in the coming weeks. »

The other important addition is, of course, the classic cars. This year, Codemasters has gone even further by allowing players to relive the fierce rivalry between Senna and Prost. Players will enjoy driving the Brazilian’s McLaren MP4/5B and the Frenchman’s Ferrari F1-90. The two world champions have even been modeled in the game, and it will also be possible to control one of them during 8 proposed challenges. Owners of the “Legend Edition” will even benefit from a special livery featuring the helmets of both drivers for online play, and most importantly, have access to the game 3 days earlier.
The “Legend Edition” is not the only one, as it is possible to purchase the “Anniversary Edition” which celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Codemasters-Formula 1 partnership. This version of the game offers the 2010 Ferrari F10 driven by Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa and the 2010 McLaren MP4-25 driven by Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton. These two new single-seaters bring the number of 2010 cars to three since the Red Bull RB6 was already featured in the 2018 edition.
Fans have been able to see that Formula 1 is a source of rivalry. We are therefore absolutely delighted to have resurrected the greatest rivalry ever created, between Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost, said Paul Jeal, F1® Franchise Director at Codemasters. Their rivalry began as early as the 1984 season and reached one of its most dramatic climaxes on the first lap of the 1990 Japanese Grand Prix. This rivalry went beyond the limits of the sport, it is considered the greatest of all time by Formula 1 fans. We know our community will love these two legends of the sport, modeled together in our game.
Codemasters also revealed the game covers and France is lucky, as Pierre Gasly and Charles Leclerc will be featured on them. The existence of a steelbook for fans has been announced. See you on Friday, June 28, the game’s release date!
