Penalized, Pierre Gasly will start from the pit lane
Misfortune continues to plague Pierre Gasly: the Frenchman has been penalized and will have to start from the pit lane during Sunday's Grand Prix.

We’ve seen smoother transitions before: in a delicate situation since his time at Red Bull, Pierre Gasly arrived in Baku hoping for a trouble-free weekend, allowing him to get closer to his teammate and rival number 1, Max Verstappen.
But as early as Friday, his chances of doing well on Sunday evening took a hit due to a penalty imposed by the FIA stewards. His mistake? Failing to stop at the FIA scales when his car was called during the second free practice session. To make matters worse, the mechanics also conducted a practice tire change before pushing the vehicle into the garage.
The FIA’s sporting code stipulates that the sanction in such situations is to start from the pit lane. The Frenchman can console himself by thinking that the long straights of Baku provide overtaking opportunities, even though he doesn’t have an advantage with his Honda engine.
