Bahrain: Flashback 2018 and Prediction of the Winner
Formula 1 returns for a second Grand Prix weekend, this time on the Asian grounds of Bahrain. On this occasion, the editorial team offers you a retrospective of the 2018 Grand Prix and provides its predictions for the race.

2018 in Overview
A first red line
The qualification started very poorly for Lewis Hamilton, as he is penalized five grid places following a gearbox change during FP3. On the Ferrari side, despite a battle between the teammates of the Italian team, it is ultimately Vettel who comes out on top at the end of the qualifying session ahead of Räikkönen by just over a tenth, followed by the two Mercedes a few tenths behind. With his penalty, Hamilton will only start in ninth position. A notable event of this qualification is Verstappen’s off-track excursion in Q1, as the driver made a mistake upon accelerating after the first corner.

A victory for Vettel
When the lights go out, it’s Vettel who takes the lead in the race; however, just behind, Bottas quickly takes second place from Räikkönen. It’s a disaster for Red Bull: Ricciardo must retire due to an electrical problem with his car, and Verstappen, following contact with Hamilton’s car, is also forced to retire due to a puncture. Räikkönen, the victim of a catastrophic pit stop that injures one of his mechanics, is called back to his garage. Ultimately, Vettel wins, with Bottas and Hamilton completing the podium.

The editorial team’s prediction
For the second consecutive time this season, the Motors Inside editorial team offers you its predictions for the race. Add a dash of Australian experience, a slight glance towards 2018, a hint of chauvinism, and you get a victory for Hamilton for some, one for Gasly or Leclerc for others, or even a triumph for Vettel.
If opinions within the editorial team diverge, it remains that Hamilton is the one who garnered the most votes, convincing more than half of the editorial staff.
