Ralph Boschung leaves MP Motorsports for Trident
After two seasons with MP Motorsports in Formula 2, Ralph Boschung has decided to join the Italian team, Trident.

The 2019 season will be important for Ralph Boschung, who has to prove he deserves his place in the feeder series to Formula 1. Accompanied by Giuliano Alesi, the Swiss driver will have to use his experience to beat his teammate who is starting his first season in Formula 2.
Boschung had been ousted in 2018 by MP Motorsports, putting him on the sidelines for the last two races. The 21-year-old Swiss driver had accused his team of providing him with poor quality equipment and ruining his career. These statements had soured the relationship between the two parties.
Now equipped with experience and a good team, it’s crucial for Boschung to have a good season. Notably, his best result is three seventh-place finishes.
Trident’s director, Giacomo Ricci, places great expectations on his new driver: I am extremely proud to announce that Ralph Boschung will carry the colors of the Trident team for the 2019 FIA Formula 2 Championship season, a category increasingly considered as the sole reference for drivers aspiring to make their way to Formula 1. In 2018, three drivers were directly promoted from F2 to F1, which demonstrates the growing effectiveness of the motorsport ladder. Ralph is a driver of great quality and undeniable talent. With Giuliano Alesi, he will form a complementary lineup with high potential. Never like today, I await the engines starting and an exciting new season.
