Claire Williams assures that her team will be ready for Melbourne
Two additional days were necessary for Williams before getting the new FW42 on track. But according to its Director, Claire Williams, this delay does not jeopardize the team's debut in Australia for the first Grand Prix.

Everyone was eagerly awaiting the first laps of the latest Williams creation in Barcelona for the first winter testing days of the season.
It took until Wednesday afternoon to see a blue and white single-seater take to the track, entrusted to the inexperienced George Russell.
Harassed by questions from the press present on site, Claire Williams, the Director of the team based in Grove, did not hide her embarrassment: “We are not just disappointed, it’s embarrassing not to have a car when everyone else managed to do it. Especially for a team like ours, which has managed to have a car for testing over the past forty years. We can only apologize.”
Especially since the single-seater launched on the track yesterday was not really complete: Parts are supposed to arrive tonight [yesterday], then we will be able to really focus on our aero program tomorrow [today].
The Williams program will therefore be busy in the coming days. However, this delay on track should not compromise the team’s presence in Australia for the season opener: « We are clearly doing everything we can to condense the program we had in order to maximize the available time. We will really focus our efforts and attention on the most important and essential areas to ensure that the car is in the best possible condition in Australia. » concludes Claire Williams.
