Unlike the other teams that all made a short video to present the model of their new car in 3D, Mercedes is going for simplicity by deciding to present the W10 using images.

However, Mercedes has undertaken a major visual overhaul of their new toy. While the W10 remains primarily silver with the signature green touches from title sponsor Petronas, the new addition from Brackley now features a gray-to-black gradient at the rear of the car. Another novelty is the appearance of numerous small stars on the rear end of the car, echoing the brand’s logo and the team’s victories.

Despite communication that led fans to believe the car would be adorned with a camouflage livery, the silver arrows are ultimately still there and remain the big favorites for this 2019 season.

But unlike the other teams that only presented their colors, Mercedes unveiled the shapes of the W10 in accordance with the new aerodynamic regulations. This new car is mainly distinguished by refined sidepods and a very sleek rear end.

This change of style contrasts with Mercedes’ unchanged line-up. Lewis Hamilton’s goal is surely to aim for a sixth world championship while Valtteri Bottas needs to prove to Mercedes that he should be retained.

The W10 completed its first laps for a brief shakedown on part of the Silverstone circuit. The new single-seater was entrusted to Valtteri Bottas for the occasion.
