The Canadian driver Nicholas Latifi will support Robert Kubica and George Russell next year at Williams. He is familiar with the Formula 1 paddocks as he was a test driver for Renault in 2016 and conducted tests multiple times this year for Force India.

Latifi’s career is quite irregular in the feeder series with only three victories overall but some standout performances both in races and qualifying.

The 23-year-old driver will help the British team develop the car and collect data but will also participate in six free practice sessions and other tests throughout the entire 2019 season.

Nicholas Latifi’s dream of reaching the pinnacle of motorsport seems closer than ever: « I am thrilled to join an iconic team like Williams as a reserve driver for 2019. It’s a fantastic opportunity to continue my development in F1 and to enhance my experience on the track with more FP1 sessions and Pirelli tests. In addition to that, a big part of my role will be driving simulators and contributing to the development of the new car. I look forward to spending time at the Grove factory, immersing myself within the team, and helping as much as I can. It’s an incredible opportunity that’s been given to me, and I can’t wait to get started. »
