McLaren will change its colors in tribute to Fernando Alonso
For Fernando Alonso's last Grand Prix in Formula 1, McLaren will modify its livery to pay tribute to the Spanish driver for the race in Abu Dhabi.

Fernando Alonso is expected to race his last Formula 1 race this weekend in Abu Dhabi. Although the Spanish driver leaves the door open for a return to the top category of motorsport in 2020, his team, McLaren, has nevertheless decided to pay tribute to him by altering the livery of his car.
In addition to the now traditional orange for the British team, a trim of blue, red, and yellow will cover the engine cover of the MCL33, thus recalling the colors of the helmet of the double world champion: « We are extremely happy and proud to contest a special race for Fernando in Abu Dhabi this weekend. We want his last Grand Prix to stand out in every way, and this was one of the ways to reflect that. We worked closely with Fernando, then with the FIA and Formula 1 to make the change for this single race, and they all provided unwavering support for the move. The Yas Marina Circuit will therefore be the setting for Fernando Alonso’s 312th Grand Prix, with 32 victories and 2 world championship titles in 17 seasons in Formula 1.
