McLaren develops a virtual reality headset with HTC
McLaren announced a long-term partnership with the company HTC, creator of technologically innovative headsets.

Once again, McLaren demonstrates its strong involvement in new technologies. After being heavily engaged in the F1 Esports Series with its McLaren Shadow team, the Woking team will attempt to replicate the sensations of driving a Formula 1 car in virtual reality with the help of HTC.
One of the many criticisms of F1 is that it is not accessible to everyone. Often categorized as a sport for the rich, many fans of the pinnacle of motorsport have never driven a single-seater.
It is therefore to bring fans even closer to their favorite discipline that McLaren and HTC are launching a special edition HTC VIVE headset to offer players an experience as close to reality as possible.
The Director of the British team, Zak Brown, is very optimistic about this partnership: « We are both committed to using the latest technologies to offer our fans the most immersive experience possible, short of physically placing them in the car. We will also work together to transform how virtual reality is used to enhance gaming, creating an experience that allows players to feel like one of the world’s top race car drivers. »
Among the actions taken by Liberty Media and this new partnership, the connection between fans and Formula 1 continues to grow.
