Sergio Sette Camara at McLaren
McLaren has decided to hire Sérgio Sette Câmara as a development and test driver. He will support Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris next year.

McLaren is once again looking to the future, but this time with a focus on drivers. The Woking team has decided to recruit Sérgio Sette Câmara for its young driver program, making him McLaren’s development and test driver. An announcement that gives a new boost to the Brazilian’s career.
Before being noticed by the British team, Câmara was part of the Red Bull Junior Team. Unfortunately for him, the Austrian firm did not fully satisfy him and thus parted ways with Sérgio in 2016.
Despite a difficult start to the season, the Brazilian driver managed to turn things around to rank 6th in the Formula 2 driver standings. This comeback allowed him to gain the favor of McLaren and be offered a second chance for a future seat in the top category of motorsport.
Câmara’s goals seem clear: I dream of one day becoming a Formula 1 driver and I would like to thank McLaren for giving me this incredible opportunity. My objective is to integrate into the team and work as closely as possible with them to listen, learn, and help develop as a driver, as well as support McLaren.
