If the Danish driver is known for his on-track incidents and microphone antics, it was in another way that Kevin Magnussen made headlines in Melbourne.

Everything unfolded during the traditional post-race debriefing organized within the American team. Exasperated by the loss of his fourth place at the Australian Grand Prix due to improper tightening of his left rear wheel, Kevin Magnussen reportedly openly criticized his mechanics. The situation quickly escalated with one of them: the journalists present around the hospitality area thus heard insults… in Danish.

The two protagonists then came to blows before being quickly separated by Günther Steiner, the team principal of the North Carolina team.

If no physical consequences are at stake for the protagonists of this altercation, Günther Steiner and Gene Haas nonetheless consider this event unacceptable. Both are ready to “apply appropriate sanctions,” anticipating a probable decision from the FIA.

Beyond the accusations of technical support from Ferrari and the Melbourne fiasco, the Haas team is definitely experiencing a very complicated start to the season. In any case, the story doesn’t say if a fight broke out between “K-Mag” and the mechanic responsible for his poorly secured left rear wheel…

To be continued… Happy April 1st to all 😉
