The bodies of the single-seaters modified in 2019 for the sponsors
An agreement has been reached among F1 teams to modify their cars by 2019 with the aim of improving sponsor visibility.

During the strategic group meeting that took place last Friday, several topics were discussed, but the issue of promoting sponsors on the cars was particularly at the center of discussions.
Two proposals were approved and two others were rejected:
The first approved modification point concerns the positioning of the side deflectors on the cars. It was decided to lower these appendages to allow for increased visibility of the area located at the drivers’ legs. This area is one of the most favored spots by sponsors and, therefore, one of the most expensive ones charged by the teams.
The second accepted point concerns the rear wings. Teams will be required to designate a zone at the top of the endplates of the rear wing, free of any openings, which will be dedicated to sponsors.
Among the rejected proposals, some teams pushed for a simplification of the front wings by removing certain elements. The main goal was to improve the visibility of sponsors. However, the project was shelved as it would have had too significant an impact on aerodynamic performance.
Finally, it seems that the shark fin, which will disappear from the cars this season, was part of the discussions at the request of a team but without success.
Know that the impact of all these changes has been calculated by the Technical Working Group to facilitate decision-making. These modifications will only come into effect in 2019. It was during this same meeting that the subject of the driver’s weight was decided.
