Impressive 6th, Grosjean talks about a crazy potential at Haas
Asked on Canal+ after his impressive sixth place in his first Grand Prix with Haas, Romain Grosjean did not hide his immense satisfaction.

Romain Grosjean couldn’t believe his eyes: he managed to finish his first race with Haas ahead of the Force India or Bottas’ Williams. “It’s a historic moment. For us, it’s like a victory,” he confided. “The last few weeks have been horrible. (…) We had little chance during the qualifiers, we got caught out by this new format.”
The Frenchman had the chance to change tires in the pits during the race interruption after Fernando Alonso’s terrible accident. He acknowledges a part of luck in his performance, but only a part: « We had the right strategy. (…) Our pit stop was a free stop. Normally, we might have finished ninth or tenth. We had a bit of luck, of course, but the car held until the end and that’s extraordinary. I believe it’s a feat for the Haas team. It had been thirty years since we last saw an American team in F1. We finished 6th fairly ahead of Force India. We have incredible potential. »
The Frenchman achieves a first feat this season, comparable to his podium in Belgium in 2015 with a Lotus that was no longer evolving.
