Official: Bottas penalized five grid places
Following a gearbox change, Valtteri Bottas was penalized five grid positions and will therefore start 16th.
Under investigation by the commissioners for not submitting his suspension settings, Valtteri Bottas faced the threat of disqualification from qualifying… but only received a reprimand on this matter.
On the other hand, the Finnish driver had to change his gearbox and therefore received a five-place penalty. Qualified only 11th yesterday, he drops back to 16th place, which benefits Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button, Jolyon Palmer, Kevin Magnussen, and Marcus Ericsson, each moving up one place.
