Race 2 – Bahrain: Mitch Evans Returns to Victory
Mitch Evans managed to secure his second victory of the season, ahead of the inevitable Stoffel Vandoorne. Alex Lynn completes the podium.

Alex Lynn started from reverse pole thanks to his eighth place in the main race. The DAMS driver was steady and took advantage to lead the contest from the first corner. But behind him, the ART Grand Prix drivers had a brilliant start. After their double victory yesterday, they started 7th and 8th. Nobuharu Matsushita shot up to slip into second position but it was short-lived: the Japanese driver could not avoid contact with Rio Haryanto at the first corner, which caused him to spin out. He was therefore forced to retire. His teammate, Stoffel Vandoorne, also had a good start and thus inherited second place, just ahead of Mitch Evans.
Nevertheless, the safety car was soon to enter the track following the collision between Oliver Rowland and Rene Binder. When the pack was released on the 6th lap, Mitch Evans launched a first attack on Stoffel Vandoorne which the Belgian could not counter. The New Zealander then focused on catching up to Alex Lynn. A great battle ensued, with multiple overtakes between the two men, before the Russian Time driver ultimately prevailed.
Behind, Stoffel Vandoorne also went on the attack and managed to find an opening on Alex Lynn. The podium order was then decided, and the three men just had to reach the finish.
On the other hand, Alexander Rossi, second in the championship, managed an impressive comeback from the 18th row on the grid to finish in 9th place. However, it was not rewarded with any points.
