Daniel Ricciardo: « NASCAR may be an option for the future »
Not knowing if Red Bull will be present in 2016, Daniel Ricciardo is starting to look at other options. Among them is NASCAR.

Securing a fifth-place finish this weekend, Daniel Ricciardo shone in Mexico. However, the future of Red Bull and Toro Rosso remains uncertain due to the lack of an engine contract for next season.
If initially a decision was to be made at the end of the month, Dietrich Mateschitz explained that a solution would rather take place by the end of November, during the season finale in Abu Dhabi: « *We have engaged in an additional two or three weeks of reflection.* »
In three weeks at best, Red Bull will know about its future. If the Austrian team leaves, Daniel Ricciardo would be free, an option considered by Dale Earnhardt Jr, a star in the Nascar scene. The latter invites the Australian driver to race a JR Motorsport in the Xfinity Series (the Nascar equivalent of GP2) on road courses:
« *Daniel can drive a car from my team on a road circuit whenever he wants* ».
@DaleJr @JRMotorsports @Kevin_W25 ok I’m looking at the 2016 calendar ASAP!!! 😜

Far from rejecting the invitation, Daniel Ricciardo is considering this opportunity to be in Nascar: “Maybe I will think about the opportunity to go to NASCAR if I don’t have a seat in F1 next year. I love the United States, so living and racing there could be interesting, but after F1.”
Despite everything, Daniil Kvyat’s teammate hopes to stay in F1, even if he believes he has an option for 2016: « Of course, I want to make sure I’m here next year. But if for some reason I’m not in F1, it seems I have another option ».
