Towards an ePrix in Switzerland?
An 11th ePrix could take place in Switzerland if funding is found by the end of the month. Sébastien Buemi reacts enthusiastically to the possible arrival of the Formula E world in Switzerland.

According to Autosport, the second season of Formula E could host a new round in Switzerland. A company has been founded under the name ePrix Lugano with the goal of bringing Formula E to their city.
The mayor of the city, Marco Borradori, is said to have reached an agreement with Alejandro Agag, the promoter of the discipline. If the world of Formula E were to come to Switzerland, the chosen date would be May 7, 2016. However, the Swiss organizers need to secure funding of 10 million euros with local partners. If this money is raised, then an ePrix will be held in Switzerland for the next three seasons, with an option for three additional seasons.
Since 1955 and an accident that claimed the lives of over 80 people at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, motor racing on circuits in Switzerland is banned, but it might not be prohibited for electric races, which delights Sébastien Buemi: « The day Formula E comes to Switzerland, it will be something very big for our country because we have had great Swiss drivers in F1, like Clay Regazzoni, Marc Surer, and Jo Siffert. I don’t know if it will happen for the second season. For now, we have to wait, but we have a large number of fans who are interested in motorsports ».
