The world of Formula 1 begins this weekend the second phase of its 2015 season on the legendary Spa-Francorchamps track, in the Belgian Ardennes.

After an intense Hungarian Grand Prix marked both by Sebastian Vettel’s victory and the heartfelt tribute to the late Jules Bianchi, the drivers and teams were able to recharge their batteries during a 4-week summer break.

Here we are back at one of the most beautiful circuits in the world, according to the “F1 Circus” participants themselves.

The track is considered a piece of bravado. Its mythical corners such as the Eau Rouge climb, the banked La Source corner, and the double sequence of Blanchimont represent an exciting challenge. The Grand Prix scenarios are usually disjointed, also aided by capricious and unpredictable weather.

The absolute record holder for victories at Spa-Francorchamps is Michael Schumacher, with 6 wins achieved between 1992 (his first success in Formula 1) and 2002.

Kimi Räikkönen is the most successful active driver on this circuit: 4 victories, including 3 consecutive wins in the 2004, 2005, and 2007 editions (the 2006 edition was eventually canceled). The 2009 event also marks his last victory for Scuderia Ferrari.

Galvanized by his renewal for 2016, Iceman will seek to triumph once again on his favorite track.

But the Finn will have his work cut out against the vengeful duo Hamilton/Rosberg and his own teammate, Sebastian Vettel, who has been making a strong impression so far…

In France, since Canal+ is the official broadcaster of Formula 1, you will need to subscribe to the encrypted channel to watch the race and other broadcasts and replays of Formula 1. This is not the case in Switzerland or Belgium, as the RTS and RTBF groups handle the broadcasts.

Don’t have a subscription to Canal +? It’s not a problem. Indeed, like last year, the MotorsInside.com editorial team is coming together to offer you live commentary during the Grand Prix qualifying sessions, as well as during the race.
