Last week, Jacques Villeneuve participated in a testing session at Castellet on the Paul Ricard circuit where this session was successful for the Quebecer.

The former Formula 1 driver shared on the Venturi team’s website: « It had been 10 years since I had driven on a road circuit in this type of vehicle. But it’s like riding a bike, you never forget. It was a little joy that fell into place. There was a very good atmosphere with the Venturi team, and I reunited with an Italian engineer from my early days in single-seaters. It was great. It was very exciting, and I really wanted it. Everything went well. Last season, every time I met Formula E drivers, they all said that this competition was really great. »

He spoke about the working atmosphere with Venturi and his future collaboration with Stéphane Sarrazin: « It’s the first time in a long while that I’m going to do a full championship. I like it because the working atmosphere with the team is good and it has a big influence. And then we know each other well with Stéphane Sarrazin, we trust each other. »

The head of the team, Gildo Pastor, is delighted with Villeneuve’s arrival in Formula E: “It is a great pride to welcome a great champion among us. Besides his 1997 title and numerous victories in F1, no one has forgotten his win in the Indy 500 or the Indy Car World Series. For this adopted Monegasque, whom I have encountered many times in his childhood, he will be at home with Venturi. I am very happy with the experienced and talented duo he will form with Stéphane.”
