On his radio, during the celebration lap following his remarkable success in Hungary, Sebastian Vettel paid tribute to Jules Bianchi in impeccable French: “C’est pour toi, Jules,” repeated the four-time world champion in memory of the French driver. “Je sais que tu aurais fini par rejoindre Ferrari.”

After a victory rich in emotions, Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Fiat-Chrysler, also paid tribute to the memory of the former member of the Ferrari Driver Academy: “We dedicate this victory to the memory of Jules Bianchi, a fantastic guy whom we miss terribly,” Sergio Marchionne stated in a press release published shortly after Vettel’s victory.

Ferrari missed the opportunity to achieve a historic double in Hungary after Kimi Räikkönen’s retirement due to an MGU-K issue: « Unfortunately, at the end of the race, we couldn’t celebrate a double that was within our reach due to Kimi’s problem. It’s a clear sign that shows we must never let our guard down » noted Sergio Marchionne.

Ferraris, on a chassis circuit, surprised observers by not only keeping up with Nico Rosberg’s Mercedes but actually outperforming it. This second victory of the season is thus an encouragement for the Scuderia: « We will continue to work to narrow the gap with those ahead of us, but always remembering to take reliability into account. We will soon be in the summer break; moving forward, I am sure that everyone within the Scuderia will return more prepared and determined than ever », concluded the CEO of FIAT-Chrysler.
