Simona de Silvestro will drive for Andretti Autosport for the final race of the season. She will team up with Jean-Eric Vergne in London.
Simona de Silvestro will be teammate with Jean-Éric Vergne at Andretti Autosport for the final event of the season in London, it was learned today. The Swiss driver will be making her first appearance in this category.
The former Sauber test driver raced in the Indianapolis 500 with Andretti Autosport, finishing 19th in this edition.
The American team managed by Michael Andretti will be on its 7th driver this season, after Charles Pic, Franck Montagny, Matthew Brabham, Marco Andretti, Scott Speed, and Justin Wilson.
Let’s recall that the last ePrix of the season, which will take place in London on June 27th and 28th, will feature an exceptional double race. At the end of this weekend, the first champion in the history of Formula E will be crowned. In all likelihood, the title will be contested between three drivers: Nelson Piquet Junior with 128 points, Lucas di Grassi with 111 points, and Sébastian Buemi with 105 points.
Regarding the Constructors’ Championship, five teams are still in contention: e-dams-Renault with 187 points, Audi Sport Abt with 143 points, NEXTEV TCR with 132 points, Dragon Racing with 116 points, and Andretti Formula E with 104 points.
