Moscow ePrix: Buemi penalized loses his 3rd place
Sébastien Buemi was penalized by the race stewards after the Moscow ePrix, which stripped him of his 3rd place finish. With the application of his penalty, he ultimately ranks 9th in this Moscow race.

Sébastien Buemi finished the Moscow ePrix in 3rd place, but the Swiss driver was penalized by the stewards after the race. They concluded that he had been unsafely released by the e.dams-Renault team during his pit stop.
He thus received a penalty, which pushed him back to 9th position in the race standings and awarded the 3rd place on the podium to Nick Heidfeld (Venturi).
This penalty obviously doesn’t help Buemi in the fight for the title, as he now finds himself in 3rd place in the drivers’ championship, 6 points behind Di Grassi and 23 points behind Nelson Piquet Jr, with only two races left to contest—both of which will take place over a single weekend in London at the end of June.
On the manufacturers’ side, this doesn’t change much, the e.dams-Renault team remains in the lead with slightly less margin over Audi Sport ABT but still with a 44-point lead over its German rival.
