Long Beach ePrix: Circuit Presentation and TV Program
Single-seater fans have a meet-up this weekend with Formula E for the sixth round of the season. The 20 drivers are once again in the United States, but this time in California, on the legendary Long Beach track. Motors Inside presents the circuit characteristics as well as the TV schedule.

The sixth ePrix of the first Formula E season takes place this Saturday, April 4th, in the port city of Long Beach. We are here on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, 30 kilometers south of Los Angeles.
The pilots
For the first time this season, the drivers’ lineup remains unchanged from the previous meeting. Indeed, Viantonio Liuzzi has been retained with the Trulli Grand Prix team. Salvador Duran is also confirmed for the Amlin Aguri team. The same goes for Loic Duval with Dragon Racing, Scott Speed with Andretti, and Charles Pic with China Racing. (The three drivers had made their appearance in Miami.)
The circuit
At 2.1 kilometers long, the track is a modified version of the original layout, one of the oldest street circuits in the United States, which notably hosted 8 Formula 1 Grand Prix from 1976 to 1983, and now hosts annual IndyCar races (formerly CART and Champ Car).
Comprised of seven turns, the Formula E cars will launch from the starting line of the traditional circuit, facing the Marina. After a long curve, drivers will take two right turns before entering the main straight. The end of the circuit returns to the original version, with a final banked hairpin leading to the finish line.
Opinion of… Gil De Ferran (Formula E Ambassador Driver)
Long Beach is an iconic track: it represents the tradition of American motorsport! The layout used by Formula E will resemble the original version, although it will be shorter. The end of the circuit will be very interesting with the famous hairpin leading onto the start/finish straight. There will be a lot of time to gain or lose in this final section! As for overtaking opportunities, the two right-hand corners at the beginning of the circuit will be interesting, particularly the one at the end of the long straight leading into turn 5. The track is very wide, which will give us thrilling battles between drivers, who will be able to fight wheel to wheel!
The TV program
In France, the Canal + group has acquired the rights for the first three seasons of Formula E. CanalSat Sport + channel will broadcast all the ePrix live.
