Tristan Vautier: « I am happy to race in Endurance »
Former IndyCar driver, Tristan Vautier will make his debut this year in the World Endurance Championship (WEC). Nevertheless, he hopes to return to the United States if an offer comes up.

Former Indy Lights champion, Tristan Vautier is eager to make his debut in the category with his SARD Morand team.
The Frenchman who raced in the United States from 2010 to 2014 will participate in the two opening WEC races at Silverstone and Spa, in the LMP2 Morgan-Evo with Olivier Webb and Pierre Ragues as teammates.
The former IndyCar driver is delighted at the prospect of racing in WEC, cited by Motorsport: « I am happy to race in Endurance this year after having raced some of the longest races in the American endurance championship. 2014 was quite limited in terms of time spent in a cockpit, so this season I will be much more involved with SARD Morand. So, I am really looking forward to starting at Silverstone. My teammates Olivier (Webb) and Pierre (Ragues) have proven they are fast in LMP2 and both are actually ELMS champions. So, it is nice to learn from them to gain experience. »
Engaged in WEC, the French driver is also looking towards the future and could return to IndyCar if offers arise: « I would welcome another opportunity to race in IndyCar. It’s very difficult at the moment, but I still have hopes and aspirations there. For now, I will participate in the first two WEC races up until Le Mans, so I’m really open to other programs and projects in the future. »
The former Indy Lights driver explains why he would like to eventually return to IndyCar: The single-seater races in the United States are incredible, and I hope I could do a few more. I love America, the tracks, the fans, everything.
Despite his desire to go to the United States, Vautier is not confirmed as the official reserve driver for the Le Mans event; however, he hopes to make his debut in June: « I would like to be the official reserve driver for SARD Morand, but nothing is confirmed yet, they already have all their drivers and then the last spot will be for the winner of the ‘Race to 24’ plan. I’m ready to talk to other people, so we just have to sit and wait to see what happens. »
