Official: Manor authorized to start the Grand Prix, Grosjean penalized
The commissioners have decided to allow the Manor team to start the Malaysian Grand Prix, even though they did not achieve a time within the 107% in Q1.

During the Malaysian Grand Prix qualifiers, both Manor cars did not set a time within the 107% rule: Roberto Merhi missed the required time by four-tenths and Will Stevens could not even defend his chances due to a technical issue.
Their participation in the race was pending, awaiting a final decision from the commissioners. The latter have decided to accept Manor on the starting grid of the Grand Prix, which will start tomorrow at 9:00 am.
At the same time, Romain Grosjean, who had qualified in 8th position, will be demoted to 10th place for « an infraction in the pit lane. » The Lotus driver is accused of not respecting the line when exiting the pits in Q2.
