Sauber should break the bank for Van der Garde
At the start of the first Grand Prix, the Sauber team faced a legal issue. Giedo Van der Garde decided to take his case to the Supreme Court of the State of Victoria to reclaim the seat that was due to him, according to the contract he had signed last year.

The Dutchman’s lawyers had reached an agreement with the Sauber team to allow Marcus Ericsson and Felipe Nasr to participate in the Australian Grand Prix.
According to the German media, Sauber is reportedly ready to pay 15 million euros to Giedo van der Garde for not respecting the contract it had signed with the Dutchman. This is, of course, a significant amount that is unlikely to improve the financial situation of a team already facing difficulties.
In Australia, Sauber made a return to the points with a magnificent fifth place finish by Felipe Nasr, complemented by an encouraging eighth place from Marcus Ericsson.
