The next round of the Formula E championship will take place in Miami on March 14, and the Andretti team has decided to call on American driver Scott Speed to support Jean-Eric Vergne.

Speed, who came through the Red Bull and Toro Rosso F1 program like the French driver, has already had the opportunity to test the single-seater used in Formula E this year, during the pre-season tests held at the Donington circuit.

Scott Speed expressed his excitement and eagerness to race in a new discipline: « It’s been so long since I’ve raced a single-seater, I feel like I’m preparing for my first day of school. So much excitement! Having this opportunity with Andretti is amazing. It’s great to be able to race with different types of cars in the same team. I’m anxious before Miami, but I’m ready for the challenge. »

The 32-year-old American driver replaces Marco Andretti alongside Vergne for the 5th round of the Formula E championship. The Andretti team will field their 5th different driver duo for this occasion (see below) – and Speed will be the 6th man to drive an Andretti Formula E car during this inaugural season.
